Machines need teachers too
Instead of just raw labeled data, you can feed back additional information to help an algorithm learn. Much like a teacher can use…metaphors or analogies to teach his pupils. ¶ It is called Learning Using Privileged Information (LUPI, the same as my last name but it’s purely coincidental). If you can stand a mathematically dense lecture, Prof. Vladimir Vapnik explains it masterfully in this video: ¶ In the nice commentary that I linked at the top, Lukas Biewald wrote that it seems like machine intelligence is “creating jobs for artificial intelligence researchers and slowly displacing all other kinds of knowledge work”.
